When to Add a Safety Program
There are occasions when your company may need more than one safety program. Here are some common examples:
Your company installs a product that you manufacture, like a metal fabricator that installs their product at a construction site.
Two separate programs are required in this case since OWYN Safety does not combine 29 CFR 1910 for general industry and 29 CFR 1926 for construction standards into one program.
You are a general contractor, but you would rather have a trade program for something specific. Perhaps you’re submitting a bid for specific trade work, like plumbing. Instead of sending your General Contractor program with standards covering all types of trades, you may want to submit the Plumbing Contractor program instead, which is 100+ pages shorter.
Adding a program in this case is more a matter of preference. You will see duplicate topics between two different contractor programs, and the language will be similar if not identical. A General Contractor program will cover ALL the hazards included in the Plumbing Contractor program, so it would still be acceptable to submit the General Contractor safety program for a plumbing job.
You perform different types of work depending on the season, like a landscaping contractor who does snow removal in winter.
Because the hazards in seasonal work may be different, two different programs are needed to cover topics that aren’t available in both.
Special Note: You do not need to add a safety program if you’re looking for a third-party program (ISNetworld, Avetta, etc.), a state plan, or a site-specific plan. You have access to all these program types in different areas of the site.

This will add the program and take you back to the Program Dashboard page. Here you will see your list of safety programs on the left and just below where it says "Document Center". Click the arrow in the drop-down to switch between the different programs.
The program information: address, phone number, safety director, safety administrator, etc. will be the same for all programs. You can modify this information, if needed, by following these directions to edit the company settings.
How to Remove a Safety Program
Removing a safety program is as easy as selecting the garbage can icon. You will see a pop-up box confirming that you do want to remove the selected program.
Any previously downloaded documents with that program type will remain in My Documents on the dashboard. Once it's removed, it will no longer be available in any drop down. It can be added again later if a new copy is needed. Just a reminder, you can have up to 5 different programs on your account at no extra cost.
