A Fresh Start for Your Screen: The Easiest Way to Fix Website Glitches

Help for the times our website seems to not be working correctly.

At OWYN Safety, we want your experience with our platform to be as smooth and simple as possible. We know it's frustrating when a page doesn't look right or a button doesn't seem to work. When this happens, our team's first piece of advice is usually: "Trying clearing your cache and cookies."

If that sounds like technical gibberish, don't worry! Here is a simple breakdown of what that means and why it usually fixes the problem.

What are "Cache" and "Cookies" anyway?

Think of your internet browser (like Safari on an iPhone or Chrome on a computer) as having a digital memory.

  • The Cache: To help websites load faster, your browser saves a "snapshot" of what the site looks like the last time you visited.

  • Cookies: These are tiny bits of saved info - like your login name or specific settings - that help the site remember who you are.

Why do they cause problems?

We are constantly working behind the scenes to update our safety programs, training courses, and tools. When we make a change, your browser might still be trying to use its "old memory" (the cache) instead of loading our new updates.

It's like trying to drive through a city using a map from five years ago - eventually, you're going to run into a road that isn't there anymore. When your browser uses that old info, you might see broken lists, overlapping text, or buttons that don't respond.

What if it still doesn't work?

Clearing your cache is like a "digital reset" that fixes most minor hurdles without you having to wait for a return phone call.

However, if a problem sticks around, we are here to help! If we can't fix it over a quick chat, we will set up a Microsoft Teams meeting with you so we can look at the screen together and get you back on track.

Our goal is to make sure you walk away from every interaction feeling satisfied and ready to get back to the important work of staying safe.
